The process begins by establishing the perfect size and fit for you. Full measurements are taken by an experienced member of our team to ensure that your final garment is tailored to your requirements.

Step 3: The Design

With advice from your assigned tailoring expert, you can select the fabric, cut and style of your suit. Every detail from button selection to lining choice is yours to decide. You can even have the inside pocket or under collar embroidered with something significant to you.

The construction process takes approximately six weeks. Once your suit has arrived in store we will invite you in for a final fitting our specialist in-house tailors will make any amendments necessary to ensure a truly personal fit.

Staff's Personal MTM Style Secrets

One of the most beautiful things about the made-to-measure process is that you can craft a garment around your own style preferences and taste. The below details are just a sample of our own staff’s personal favourite things that can be achieved through made-to-measure.

Spalla Camicia Shoulder

A particular favourite detail of Paddy in Capel Street is the ‘spalla camica’ (shirt shoulder). Originated in Neapolitan tailoring, it’s a softly-constructed shoulder that sits close to the body which gives a more nonchalant and relaxed vibe to the jacket.

Roped Shoulder

A hallmark of John’s style in Dundrum is the roped shoulder. A quintessential detail of traditional English tailoring, the more pronounced sleeve head or ‘roping’ adds more definition to the shoulder without the need for a thicker shoulder pad - building up the wearer's shoulders without looking bulky.

Pleated Trousers

Essential styling for Ed in Wicklow Street is the pleated trousers. Not only does it give great style and character to the trousers, the more important thing they provide - comfort. The excess folds of fabric provide more room when moving around and sitting down making them incredibly comfortable to wear. More than that, they exude elegance and sophistication the likes of Cary Grant and Gianni Agnelli.

Milanese Buttonhole

A small detail that is loved by many of our staff is the Milanese buttonhole. A solely handmade detail, the slightly raised profile gives the garment extra character. It takes a good tailor 45 minutes to do, it provides subtle definition to the lapel and is a true tell-tale sign of a handmade suit.

Ability To Get Creative

One of the great things about made-to-measure is the sheer choice of fabrics available, with 3,500 individual fabrics to choose from. This allows you to get as creative as you like when it comes to colour, pattern and composition. With endless possibilities you can create a truly unique garment that is made for you, by you and that you will have for many years to come.
