SPK_2: Colm, tell me, when was your first time in Louis Copeland?
SPK_1: The first time I came in was for my wedding, so six years ago, back in 2017, and it was a made-to-measure with yourself.
SPK_2: And how was the fit and everything?
SPK_1: Amazing, yeah, really good. I first heard of Louis Copeland when I wanted to get my wedding suit and I wanted to go somewhere for made-to-measure. It was the first name that came into my head. Even my dad has been here before. I know my uncles have gone here and some of my cousins. As they started going into the workforce, they came here. It's just a name synonymous with made-to-measure suits. It was the first on my list, and then I met Abu.
SPK_2: And I did a suit for your dad as well? He got a double breasted suit!
SPK_1: He's in with the guys from Cork a lot as well. That's probably part of the reason I come back. It was the trust I have in you, even knowing you would put me in the right brands and styles that suit me.
SPK_2: How does made-to-measure work for you? We've done Super 150 for you, and Super 130 as well. How were the fabric, the feel, and the fit?
SPK_1: Yeah, look, I think it's really good. The experience as a whole is quite nice. You go in, pick through all the fabrics, and choose the internal lining, which I really like. Overall, the fit is a lot better for me compared to a more standard, off-the-shelf suit, which is great. I also find they last a bit longer. I tend to get two to three years out of them, which is great because I can rotate them a lot more.
SPK_2: And generally, you take two trousers with each suit. Why is that?
SPK_1: Because you told me to! [laughs]
SPK_2: For the past 2-3 years, I've noticed you haven't gotten any suits, but more smart casual jackets, swackets, and chinos. Why is that?
SPK_1: I think it's probably because of COVID. We have a bit more of a relaxed working environment now. Before, it was traditional shirts and ties. Nowadays, I’m not even wearing a tie with clients or in internal meetings. It tends to be chinos, shirts, and swackets which are getting a bit more popular.
SPK_2: Swackets—you can dress them up or down depending on the occasion.
SPK_1: Exactly. They're more relaxed, less formal than a blazer. It's funny, I still go back to my wedding suit for special occasions. I wear it to weddings or even to christenings for my two daughters. It's just special, and it's a special fabric as well, which is really cool. Outside of that, I think the swacket is probably my favourite thing over the last two to three years. I tend to wear them a lot.
